You’ll notice that’s “one-forty,” singular.
Instead of a laundry basket of twitter-like items, there was, to my way of thinking, one big ticket item overnight, and that was the confrontation in Iran between the “Greens” and the government forces.
I closed out yesterday’s post by saying, “May the forces of freedom and justice prevail against those of tyranny and terror.” So you have every right to ask me, “did they?” I don’t think I have the right to say one way or the other. There were many brave souls who came out at the risk of their lives to stand up for what they believe is right, and there were many more who stood against them, with superior weapons and organization. There are some who say it was a moral victory if not a tactical one. Some may say it was neither. Maybe some think it was indeed a victory, morally and otherwise.
The temptation here is to analyze and compare and tally up scores for both sides. We call that “Monday morning quarterbacking.” But what’s happening in Iran is not a football game, folks. And it’s not over. Nor will it be over tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that.
May the forces of freedom and justice prevail against those of tyranny and terror.
